This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how Solar Vidyut (“Solar Vidyut”, “we”, “us” or “our”) processes and delivers solar equipment and related products purchased from us.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to physical products and equipment supplied by Solar Vidyut, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting structures, outdoor solar lights, electrical components and related accessories.
For projects involving installation, delivery forms one part of the overall project. Delivery does not by itself mean that installation, testing, grid connection, net metering, commissioning or subsidy processing has been completed.
2. Service Area
We deliver to locations that fall within our operational and logistics coverage. Product availability, delivery feasibility and any additional transportation requirements will be confirmed during the quotation or order-confirmation process.
Some remote or difficult-to-access locations may require additional delivery time or charges. We will inform the customer before confirming such an order.
3. Order Processing
An order is treated as confirmed after:
- The customer accepts the quotation, proposal or purchase order;
- The agreed advance or payment is received;
- Any required site survey or technical assessment is completed;
- Product specifications and system design are approved; and
- The customer provides the information and documents required to process the order.
Processing or procurement may begin only after these requirements have been completed.
Products configured, sourced or manufactured for a particular site may require additional preparation time.
4. Delivery Time
The estimated delivery period will be communicated in the quotation, order confirmation or project schedule.
Delivery estimates begin from the date on which the order is confirmed and all required information, approvals and payments have been received. Delivery and installation schedules may differ.
Any stated delivery date is an estimate unless Solar Vidyut expressly confirms it as a guaranteed date in writing.
5. Delivery and Transportation Charges
Applicable delivery, freight, handling, loading, unloading, insurance or special-access charges will be:
- Included in the agreed project price; or
- Shown separately in the quotation or order confirmation.
Additional charges may apply if the delivery location, access conditions or unloading requirements differ from the information provided by the customer.
No additional charge will be imposed without informing the customer.
6. Delivery Methods
Orders may be delivered by Solar Vidyut’s team or through authorised courier, freight or transportation partners.
Large solar equipment may require suitable vehicle access, unloading space and secure storage at the project site. The customer must ensure that the delivery location is accessible and that an authorised person is available to receive the products.
7. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
- Providing a complete and accurate delivery address and contact number;
- Informing us about access restrictions, timing restrictions or special unloading requirements;
- Ensuring that the site is accessible and reasonably safe for delivery;
- Arranging an authorised representative to receive the shipment; and
- Providing secure and weather-protected storage when installation is scheduled for a later date.
Solar Vidyut will not be responsible for delays or additional costs resulting from incomplete information, inaccessible premises, unavailable recipients or unsafe site conditions.
8. Inspection at Delivery
The customer or authorised representative should inspect the shipment at the time of delivery for:
- Visible damage;
- Missing packages or components;
- Incorrect products; or
- Tampered or materially damaged packaging.
Any visible issue should be recorded on the delivery receipt and reported to Solar Vidyut within 48 hours of delivery, along with the order details, photographs or videos, and a description of the issue.
Signing a delivery receipt without recording visible damage may affect our ability to raise a claim with the transporter. This does not limit any rights available to the customer under applicable law in relation to concealed defects or deficient services.
9. Partial Deliveries
Depending on product availability and the project schedule, an order may be delivered in more than one shipment. We will inform the customer where partial delivery is required.
A partial delivery will not be treated as completion of the entire order unless expressly agreed otherwise.
10. Failed Delivery and Storage
If delivery cannot be completed because:
- The address or contact information is incorrect;
- No authorised person is available;
- The premises are inaccessible;
- The customer refuses an agreed delivery without a valid reason; or
- The site is not ready to receive or safely store the equipment,
we may reschedule the delivery. Reasonable re-delivery, transportation, demurrage or storage costs may apply after notice to the customer.
11. Delivery Delays
Delivery may be affected by circumstances including:
- Product or component availability;
- Transportation or supply-chain disruptions;
- Severe weather or natural events;
- Government restrictions;
- Strikes or civil disturbances;
- Site-access or safety concerns;
- Delays in customer approvals, documentation or payment;
- DISCOM, net-metering, subsidy or government approvals; or
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer and provide a revised estimate. If a material delay makes fulfilment impractical, the customer may contact us to discuss an alternative product, revised schedule or cancellation of the unfulfilled portion in accordance with our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
12. Installation and Commissioning
Delivery, installation and commissioning are separate stages.
Installation will be scheduled according to site readiness, workforce availability, weather, safety requirements and receipt of the required payments and approvals.
Government subsidy, inspection, grid synchronisation and net-metering timelines are controlled by the relevant authorities and are not guaranteed by Solar Vidyut.
